Project description
This materially rich residence is carefully designed to respond to its subtropical setting, maximising comfort, light, and connection to landscape.
Privacy from the street is achieved through layered screening and planting that frame a cobbled forecourt. A scalloped, curved concrete form projects toward the street, engaging the neighbourhood as planting cascades down its textured surface.
Passing beneath a planted concrete awning, water views are revealed gradually through a sequence of living spaces. The plan is arranged to capture prevailing breezes, allowing them to move naturally through interiors filled with soft, abundant natural light.
On the upper level, operable screening shifts dynamically in response to use. Upper panels open to frame views of the sky and tree canopy, while lower elements reveal garden outlooks while maintaining a sense of privacy.
